Keywords: Alkyl benzene sulphponate, gill, intestine, morphological change, Tilapia zilli

This study examined the morphological changes in the gill and intestine of Tilapia zilli exposed to two sublethal concentrations (0.50 and 1.00mgl-1) of alkyl benzene sulphonate under laboratory conditions. Morphological changes in the gills include erosion of the epithelial cells, fusion of filaments and extensive disruption of the epithelial membrane at higher LAS concentration, the extent of damage were more pronounced and the epithelial membrane eroded and filled with cell debris.
